I watched Control before I read Touching From a Distance, which the film is based on, and the one complaint I had for it was they really seemed to tone down his assholishness for the film. I mean he was still kind of a prick to Deborah, but they made it out to be more sympathetic, like he was trying to do the right thing but his disorders prevented him from it. Yeah, I've been inspired to check that book out as well. It's definitely next on my list. While that's the one that I will read first...I'm curious if there are any books about Ian Curtis/Joy Division that are from a more neutral party. I mean...Deborah wrote the book so I tend to think it might be slightly biased.
