I'll check it out next for the sake of hearing everything, but if it's more of the Knocked Out Loaded style I'm really not looking forward to it.

^ Thanks for your verdict on this album. I already have the wonderful
Brownsville Girl on a compilation, and from what you say I can just leave it at that.
Dylan`s title, incidently, comes an old song called Junker`s Blues, which was re-written in 1951 as Junco Partner. On Dr.John`s excellent version of it, the lyrics are more or less:-
Down the road came po` old Junko
Boys he was loaded as he could be
Body was knocked out, knocked out loaded
`N`he was wobblin`all down the street.

not one of his best, certainly not even good, but pretty inoffensive and an okay listen

^ Yes, Howard, although it`s very lightweight and has more covers than originals, tracks like
Silvio, Shenandoah, 90 Miles An Hour make it worthwhile. For me it`s one of those albums that could`ve been good if it had been spliced up with some better material.

^ I can`t answer your question about Lanois, but I share your earlier misgivings about
Time Out Of Mind; too many depressing songs for my liking, and not enough musical excitement.
PS Good luck to Howard with
Knocked Out Loaded, and good luck to Chives with
Down In The Groove
