Magician: Apprentice last night and quickly put the followup on my iPad. While there were some major pacing issues towards the last 150 pages or so where years went by each chapter, I did like how they started to develop some of background characters more. It did seem a little strange though, as the main character Pug was really the only one we got to see, minus two chapters, and then he's just abandoned at the end of the second act. In either case I'm not as concerned as these books are huge and there's only three of them, but it was a little odd, and makes me wonder if that's why there's two versions of the book.
