Default Writing another paper on mixing boards

So I was writing a paper on the differences in inline and split systems. Inline being the mixing boards that have the recording and monitoring on the same channels and split they're not. I'm not sure if there's anything else I should add.

But I did want to mention the move from split to inline systems. When did inline systems really become popular? I know that split systems have been around longer but when did inline surpass split in it's use.

Also what are some good examples of split mixing boards? What are some good examples of inline mixing boards?
