Arrow Worldcontainers Lyrics/poetry

Hey guys I have been doing writing for a couple years now and have some publications in small magazines and journals and thought I would post some on here. I like sharing my work and reading other peoples work as well so if you've got something to show me feel free to post it in here maybe we could inspire each other haha. I would be appreciative of any comments, advice, questions or thoughts you name it its welcome here. I will post some of the work I have and gradually post more as I see fit. I will list with each title if I have written music for it and my thoughts etc.

"Climbing Trees

I am taking a picture
I am writing it down

I am painting a bottle
Im not allowing to drown.

We were craving,
We are graying.

But the truth is,

After dozens of night scenes and
Cold hearted stunts.

Im alone in the street,
Ive blacked out three months.

I am wishing us onward,
I am speaking aloud.

Ive become disconnected,
the least of a crowd.

A piece of a monster,
I am graying.

But the truth is

We often forget
The inspiration we need.

Is only a beginning
its only a seed.

We've got years ahead of us,
A plot of evergreens,
A forest of new beginnings,
to nourish and feed.

We often forget,
We are graying.

We've got bibles to watch,
We've got TVs to read.

We've got bottles of scotch,
and malignant disease.

We've got to break out of our patterns,

before we can climb any trees."

This was just my most recent piece so I thought I would start with that. This one isnt set to music as of now. My favorite line is "I am painting a bottle, Im not allowing to drown." Not allowing to drown was meant to symbolize that he is drinking the bottle dry so that it could take a breath.
