I'd probably start with Goo as well. Although it's not my favourite SY album it's the best for a beginner in my view. It has a more streamlined sound yet still has some cracking songs and retains the band's key traits. Daydream Nation was where I started, as did a lot of people probably, but it can be a tough listen at first and can even put some people off.
