What I mean is that a lot of people feel that way. They don't like either candidate, they dislike the two party system, etc. What perturbs me is that this just turns into apathy instead of actively trying to change the party system for the better or, more realistically, working within an existing party to make things better. It allows the rhetorical, dogmatic empty suits to dominate politics and create minions of unreasoning proto-people who vote red or blue because they're told to.

The parties need reasonable people to change them. If you're fed up with the way it works, get involved – don't protest in political silence.

This isn't directed at you, just the sentiment that's fairly common.
