Some places are not as affected as other places, at least in Canada. Out west in BC, they're on a fault line so they're more likely to get earth quakes. Much of Ontario and the Prairies in the midwest get tornadoes but the impact of tornadoes is not as widespread, and the Atlantic provinces on the coast get hurricanes and the remnants of hurricanes that travel up the coast. There's also a risk of ice storms and severe snow storms and blizzards in the more northern parts. As far as I know, there are no active volcanoes in Canada.
