Well, Katrina was in Louisiana, Ike was in Texas, and the others I'm not sure but they weren't here. The last hurricane to hit NJ/NY was last year with Irene and we got some heavy rainfall which caused flooding but was isolated to just main rivers getting too high. There was no storm surge of this monumental proportion. We haven't seen anything like this in our history really. It's sad. The shore was kind of New Jersey's namesake. We lost a valuable and wonderful part of our culture. It's be like London losing Big Ben or San Fransisco losing the Golden Gate Bridge. Not to mention the loss of life...
Really just sucks.
