Welcome to MusicBanter, Jonny!

Joining a forum is quite an adventure because you can meet so many people with so many different perspectives from around the world. I enjoy MusicBanter immensely and hope you will, too.

I feel the best place to start here as a singer/songwriter who wants to find tips, collaborations, critiques, etc., is to post lyrics in the songwriting section in the Artists Corner. That's how I joined...and look, I'm still here after three years!

The site's rules ( Music Banter - Announcements in Forum : Introductions ) were updated recently, I think, to say that joining MusicBanter *just* to get feedback on one's music isn't allowed. I think the current moderators want to encourage people to become integrated members of the whole community and join in general music discussions rather than hang out only in the songwriting section.

However, getting and sharing songwriting tips and sharing your lyrics isn't verboten (yet ), so I recommend you start a thread entitled "JonnyGuillin's Collection" in the songwriting section of the Artists Corner. Our moderator Urban Hatemonger posted user guideliness for the songwriting forum, so these may be helpful for you to read: http://www.musicbanter.com/song-writ...tml#post660007

There is also a thread where people offer songwriting tips so you can read other people's tips and share your own: http://www.musicbanter.com/song-writ...tml#post264711.

Since you're from Canada, here's a music thread I thought you might be interested in because you probably have an opinion: http://www.musicbanter.com/indie-alt...html#post44812

I'm pleased to "meet" you, Jonny, and I hope you'll stick around.

Erica
