This is basically exactly what I do. By doing that, I eventually latch on to something I haven't looked into as much I though I did and them BAM I have a new direction to go in. It's refreshing. It's also comforting to know that I will always come back to music. The first time I lost some interest, I was legitimately depressed about it.
