I really have to thank Gunnels for turning me on to these guys. They describe themselves as electroswing, which works well enough as a descriptor I guess, though they're really more like electro gypsy jazz. They sound sort of like an updated version of "Lucas with the Lid Off" which is definitely a compliment. If the concept of jazz retrofuturism in jazz appeals to you, they're worth a listen. |
Glad you liked it Janz! It's been on constant rotation ever since I first listened to "Bambous". The new album released this year is pretty funky as well.
