Default I wasn't there... I swear...

The Sex Pistols' first tour away from their comfort zone of London saw them attracted less than a 50 strong crowd (including performers) just before they shot to fame in 1976. The Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester was where this seminal gig took place.

The Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto had organized the event, and on the bill were Mick Hucknall, Morrisey, Mark E Smith, Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook. Future music guru and Factory Records owner Tony Wilson was also there.
I have personally spoken to at least another 50 people who swear they were there. I have read of at least another 100 people who swear they were there to witness the birth of punk.

I am honest enough to admit I wasn’t there. But I wish I had been...

Which gig do wish you could have been at?
