Masayuki Takayanagi & Kaoru Abe - Gradually Projection
This is the accompanying album to the duo's Mass Projection, and it's an entirely different animal. Mass Projection is two 25 minute improvisational noise jazz pieces that is similar to Borbetomagus's work, although it predates the groups by ten years. It has Masayuki Tagkayanagi on guitar and Kaoru Abe on alto saxophone.
Gradually Projection, however, has Tagayanaki on the acoustic and Abe on bass clarinet and harmonica. Takayanagi's playing is great, but Abe is the star of the show in this 49 minute journey that touches on a plethora of emotions that ranges from melancholy to angry to hopelessness.
