10 Years - The Autumn Effect

I remember being an angsty eighth grader when this album came out, and it became my favourite album in no time. But like other tween fads, this fell out and was replaced, although not as quickly as other albums of its type. I gave it the another listen after about seven years and cannot say that it disappoints.

This album has tinges of being a watered down Tool album, but it possesses something else beyond that. I think that it's this that makes this album stand out among its contemporaries such as Chevelle, Evans Blue, Cold, the likes. I also really like the singer, even if he is quite a bit like Maynard. I generally get bored with this type of music, but I listened to this album tonight and was captivated for the listen. It may be just nostalgia, but I really like this one.
