Bakermat - Vandaag EP (2012)

A couple nights ago, three good friends and myself got together and made pizzas, drank Christmas beer, and got high. We were an eclectic group; two Germans (one from Hamburg, the other Munich), one Kiwi, and a Californian. We had one thing in mind: listen to good music.

So we plugged in to a massive speakerset and took turns DJing from a macbook. After some progressive house, some hip hop, some psychedelic rock (including the entirety of Lonerism), this track was played:

It was love at first listen. Give it at least 2 minutes and you'll see what I mean. So of course once I'd sobered up a bit I had to get the source material for myself.

It's a tech house masterpiece that, most prominently, features a flute. A happy little flute. The best way to describe this song is infectiously uplifting while paradoxically overwhelmingly soothing.
