I'd recommend trying the original free mod from Desura first, and then getting the remade retail edition. They're the same game from a story point, but the new version does feature far prettier graphics. Although with the Steam sale going on now it's only $4.99

Shank, this is a game for stealth enthusiasts. What sold me was the art style though, which is very reminiscent of the amazing cartoon series
Samurai Jack. It also features some of the best stealth gameplay I've seen since the
Thief series, with an easy to navigate GUI that always makes you aware of how visible and how much sound you're making. The levels are sprawling, which allows for multiple paths ranging from 100% stealth to stealth takedowns. I've just started playing, but I can definitely say that this was worth the $11 from the Steam sale.
