I’ve been a fan of (*Blackmore’s Night) for some time; I was going to start a thread for them actually, but I wasn’t sure if starting a new one due to misspelling and lack of punctuation in this thread’s title was good enough a reason.

Big fan for many reasons, some emotional (i.e. reminds me of cool autumn days back home), and their music has a tendency to lift my spirits or inspire me. So in that sense, I applaud them.

I definitely give them credit for infusing a pop sensibility into neo-medieval/Celtic music; a style of music most find flat out boring, and adding strong hooks and memorable melodies.

Some songs that originally got me into the group.

You either 'get it' or you don't, as with a lot of music such as this; that most people find cheesy.
