Yeah, I've never understood the whole "died on the cross for our sins" thing. How does dying on a cross have any bearing on anyone but the person dying on the cross. Not to mention that the concept itself just doesn't make sense. Why does god need his son to die to forgive us our sins? Why does he demand sacrifice like some pagan god? I always figured that this was just one of those things, like turning Saturnalia into Christmas, that was used to get pagans, who I guess were all about making sacrifices for this or that, to buy into the whole notion of Christianity. I know that the Jews used to make sacrifices, but Christianity was supposed to not do that.
