Those things on the top at the back end are just to aid your aim, there is a gap in the middle which is meant to align with the front of the gun (see bit of raised metal right at the front where the pellet comes out from). It fires one shot only, it's a BSA Scorpion Mk2 .22. You bend the barrel downwards (like in pic) and that loads it, insert the pellet into the hole at the back of the barrel, then shut the barrel and pull the trigger. Anyone can use it, it's very basic.
