Sure it does; you reference a nonexistent history wherein "Native Americans" were passive nonactors who merely felt the repercussions of "U.S." actions.
The problem with your analysis starts at the term "Native Americans"; it implies they thought of themselves as members of some over-arching group which encompassed all their tribes. This was not the case and it is not a minor point.
