I'd say that tripping on shrooms is more wavey, dissociative, kind of muddles your perception of reality while providing you with the tools to create your own, while acid gives me a more lucid, clear-headed and sharp trip where everything is vibrant and like Freebase Dali said "electric". I think of acid as a night out in Tokyo, with all kinds of neon lights and amazing sounds blaring while mushrooms feel more like the world has been turned into a psychedelic bounce house.
