I will forever remember the first time I listened to Deloused. I was at a LAN shop with some friends playing some Battlefield:1942. I had just bought Deloused at the HMV across the street and it was really a random buy. I kinda liked the cover. I popped it into my CD player and was subsequently mind ****ed. It didn't leave my CD player for months after that. I just couldn't understand how everyone else didn't recognize how freaking amazing it was. I was officially a music snob from that point on.
So to say the Mars Volta are a very personal band for me is an understatement.
And I agree about that Bosnian Rainbows song. I also don't think Omar's solo stuff is too great either. There are moments...but it's nothing like a Volta album.
