So Trap has been around since the early 2000's which was incorporated into hip hop, but as of late 2012 DJ's have been using the elements of trap into their remixes. I understand the Harlem Shake by Baauer has made trap music viral but they actually are not considered legitimate trap. Well, that's according to some people. I am seriously enjoying it and personally like the Southside influence, it feels really intense but cranking it at the same time. Personally Chief Keef is my favourite trap artist right now.
Quote:
While its sound and influences have undergone a number of developments since its inception, it can often be characterized by its sweeping sub-bass, crisp snares, scratching, heavy 808 basslines, layered synths, repeated samples, and sped up hi-hats.
