I work with a lot of people who are over 50, and the biggest misconception that I've noticed from them is that all youth to understand these new fangled devices. Often times people from other departments of the main office come to me to ask me how to fix their phones, iPods, or other computer problems.

My boss once asked me instead of my manager, who takes care of any technological issues in the office, how to complete a function in a program that only our company uses. I'm new to the program and don't know how to do much of anything on it, mostly because I have limited access to loan information being an intern.

Whenever I tell someone who believes that everyone under the age of 35 is fluent in all technology that I don't know how to help them, they look at me as if I'm lying to me. I think that's the worst part.
