Very true, when talking about Geddy Lee, Chris Squire and a hand full of others as well. But not all vocalist have the patience or talent to synchronize playing bass and singing lead vocals at the same time. For example, playing rythm guitar, keyboards, and even the drums while being the lead vocalist is much more easy to accomplish than playing bass and doing the vocals. Especially being outstanding at both. I find with most bass player/lead vocalist, their bass playing is usually not that impressive, or at least, not as impressive as their vocals are.
