Well I do agree it is harder than the other instruments mentioned I admit, but to me personally it seems to be much more easier to synchronize with the vocals than playing the bass and singing. There certainly is a lot more physical effort involved. And sitting down espeacially can prove to be quite more difficult in comparison to singing while standing up for most vocalist. Phil Collins and Don Henley are two artist that eventually abandoned the drums full time in order to more concentrate and perform their vocals better. The drummer for Queen does an outstanding job on a couple of songs, but mostly just backups.
