I don't think Americans are aware or even care that some artists they like are from another country. The actual thought of being a foreigner doesn't enter their minds and it's a non issue. If you were asking us this 50 years ago I'd say you'd have yourself a healthy discussion. Americans now just want outrageous flavored doritos and TV shows about celebrities jumping off diving boards.
