There's far more progressive rock on here than his previous few albums, that sounded a little more like Porcupine Tree, but at the end of the day you know what you're going to get from Steven Wilson. That's not really a criticism nor praise, just an observation, but I definitely do find myself growing more anxious that he's just going to start sounding the exact same on everything. He's a talented enough musician that those fears are probably unfounded, but I kind of wish he'd take some time off from making music to just... explore something new, or find a way to reinvent himself like David Bowie constantly does.

I was wondering how this was going to turn out. I actually haven't listened to any of his solo albums. I'm pretty familiar with Porcupine Tree, and I found myself getting a little bored after awhile.
Fear of a Blank Planet was the last one I got really into, but
Deadwing is where it's at for me.
