I don't mind when they end with a ****ty song, because by then I'm usually ready to turn it off anyway since I don't have the greatest attention span. When it starts with a ****ty song though that definitely bugs me. I could love the entirety of the rest of the album, but that one bad song that starts the whole thing off just gives a bad impression from the word go and taints the whole rest of the ablum. Sure I could skip the song, but it would still be in the back of my mind that I had to skip the very first song on the album.

Yeah I can't put myself to skip the first track, even if it's a weak opening. But the opener to any album really needs to resonate with me, leave an impression. On some records, the ending of an album is crucial too. It just bothers me when they aren't good.
