^ Hey. Radiohead songs and Wonderwall are both good.

For argument's sake of what may or may not fit the category, a general dictionary definition states a ballad is "a slow sentimental or romantic song."

That being said, here are a few I like. Not all of them are love songs, but I like them because these are songs with beautiful music that contain a lot of emotion...

Stateless - Bloodstream
The Moody Blues - Watching and Waiting
Lou Reed - Perfect Day
Radiohead - Lucky
Smashing Pumpkins - By Starlight
The Cure - Pictures of You
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

Could probably think of better ones, but scrolling through my iPod these few stood out to me.

So yeah.
