Now I suppose this is another lowball that I will have to defend, so I do provide some sort of rational explanation. Although I concede that their first release is a hardcore classic, I do find that it's missing those real stand out songs that can be found on the albums of other notable hardcore bands.

Easily the best track off the ROIR album for me. The build up of the drums, and the way it all leads to the lightening fast blast of energy is just amazing. The way it sets it up, creates tension and then just feels like a punch to the face. This is hardcore in its highest order.... I have never heard much more from the style that can rival the intense build up and energy this song has.

A standout on the album, and a stand out in the entire style. An easy choice for top 5 best hardcore songs ever written.

One of the best opening tracks to a hardcore album. Starts it off with the right amount of energy to get you pumping. One of those songs that no matter who you are, you see this and you should be moving... unless you're dead.

H.R.'s banshee like wailing is intense and genuine... and that guitar is just perfect as well.

Now, we got to this..... a song that not only speaks to pure hardcore, also brought attention to the PMA philosophy to the scene (yeah, it has become almost a sterile cliche now... but at the time it was a call to arms... and of course, we can state the obvious and get into the fact that HR was probably the last person to really believe it.. but that is just worn out debate)

It is on par with the philosophies of Minor Threat. A hardcore stand out.

Finally, of course:

I do not know what is left to say about this one, we all know it... but no matter, think we can all agree it is a standout hardcore song. No point going more into this one, it is what it is.

Yeah. These songs truly represent the style, and are classics. More than qualify themselves as standouts.

Maybe when you listen to the album, they may not stand out as much, because the flow is great enough that all of it is a standout... but when compared to a lot of what hardcore became... I dare you to find me anything like them that are on this level.

So I can not agree with this opinion of yours at all, that the album has no real standouts, compared to other hardcore bands at all.

To rank them in the middle makes me wonder how you can redeem yourself.

Lose 100,000,000 punk points.
