I'd Do Anything
This song features Mark Hoppus from Blink-182. Pierre Bouvier wrote this about a break up and desperately trying to win the person back. I really like this song because Simple Plan and Blink-182 are similar bands and feel that Hoppus compliments the band with his contribution. My favorite SP song. 10/10

The Worst Day Ever
This song features Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. The intro sounds similar to Bowling for Soup's "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" and American Hi-Fi's "Flavor of the Week". Also sounds like it should be in one of those high school romance movies. Lyrics kind of remind me of Eurotrip for some reason. 5/10

You Don't Mean Anything
Like the prior song, the lyrics remind of something you'd see in one of those corny high school/college romance movies such as Eurotrip, Road Trip, or Not Another Teen Movie. I like the guitar in this song, but the lyrics are depressing. 6/10

I'm Just A Kid
Even though the lyrics are almost equally depressing as the prior two songs, I think many can relate to the lyrics as it refers to being a kid and the world seeming like such a big place. One of the better songs on the album, for sure. 7/10

When I'm With You
Not quite as depressing as the prior songs, but up there. Pierre sings about a girl who apparently doesn't reciprocate and admits he shouldn't care, but he can't help it. Like the other songs, the beat is decent which makes the song somewhat likeable. 6/10

Meet You There
The lyrics aren't quite as depressing. Not a big fan of the guitar in this song and to me, it reminds me of a faster version of O-Town's "All or Nothing". 5/10

Addicted
Slowly moving away from the depressing lyrics. The guitar is great right from the very beginning. My favorite SP song after "I'd Do Anything". 9/10

My Alien
Definitely not a depressing song. Not sure why Pierre compares his love interest to an alien, but I do like the guitar in this song. 7/10

God Must Hate Me
This song isn't based on romance or unreciprocated love like the others. Don't like the song at all. 3/10

I Won't Be There
This is actually a reverse of the other songs where Pierre sings about leaving. Good guitar and bass. 7/10

One Day
Not a romance song. The song talks about growing up with overbearing parents who put him down. Don't like the instrumental but the lyrics are very relatable. 6/10

Perfect
Same theme as "One Day". In this song though, it's about where his father is not satisfied no matter what his son does. That anything he does isn't good enough. Relatable lyrics, plus the instrumental is much better. 8/10


Outside of 1 song, each song has some good quality to it, whether it's the instruments or the lyrics. I'd Do Anything, Addicted, and Perfect are my favorite songs. My Alien and I Won't Be There are also very good songs. Overall, I would give it somewhere between a 7 or 8/10. 3 good songs and only 1 that I truly didn't like. Just about every song had something good about it.
