Okay.
"From the Ground Up" by John Fullbright. I suppose it's a combination of the songwriting and Fullbright's bluesy, country-swamp voice that's drawn me to this album. The keyboard based songs remind me favorably of Randy Newman while the guitar numbers evoke Guy Clark. Comparisons aside, the album has stuck with me long after it ends.
Purling Hiss "Water On Mars". Enjoying this mostly because of the much improved songwriting (though I know someone who hates the album for this very reason). Also, the second track, "Mercury Retrograde", has become a welcome earworm.
