The Beatles are not over-rated, (you might not like them) but they are rated just fine imho. The Beatles were doing this that other weren't doing before The Beatles. You didn't hear Lonnie Donegan writing a song like "Within You Without You." But on the other hand you are absolutely right about Jacko there were plenty of real good R&B singers and writers before and after Jacko that were better than him.
