I guess you're not familiar with HHBH, because if you were you'd be familiar with his usual stance on issues concerning individual freedoms and how they shouldn't ever be a burden on society and his level of sympathy is usually zero on such matters. All this is quite contradictory by him really, as he's often expressed himself as not really wanting to be part of society anyway, but he still seems to have a strong view about society. He's like a throwback to a member of the Nazi Party circa 1930s.
