I really go for quantity, I suppose, as the question is phrased. With that said, I go for quantity to seek out more quality. I feel like the two go hand in hand.

If a person's only ever heard Rod Stewart, Ke$ha, and Hanson in their life, that's not quantity, but it's not necessarily quality either. The quality, in that instance (and in pretty much any other instance) is going to be subjective.

If you go out there and really seek out new music, as much music as you can get your hands on, it's going to be a lot, and it's going to be overwhelming. You are, however, more wont to stumble across quality at this time than with a severely limited playlist. It's the law of averages.

Which, ironically, is more of a theory.
