I think if aliens landed here and saw people singing around a campfire. I think the first thing they would say: "Look at these Earthlings, look how brave. They huddle around plasma emitting fuel rods. Let's leave... we have no chance... they are insanely courageous." So there's an equal possibility that Earth is protected by campfire singers.
