I agree with you on depressing when it comes to some of the acoustic ballards on the album, and your right on the Gilmour' solos as well, Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 & Comfortably Numb are usually regarded as his most notable ones, but then again, anything Gilmour does is usually brilliant.
