A cut price Shutter Island except that it came out 3 years earlier so if you liked that film then give this a go. Smaller on budget and far more subtle.

A great low budget concept enhanced by Postlethwaites presence but let down on an over reliance on previous documentary footage that could be perceived as biased. However; the concept of a lone guy sat in front of a computer screen (circa 2055) documenting mans downfall for future generations is intriguing and works well at times. All the documentary footage is real and adds gravitas but the over reliance on it means the purpose of the film is lost a little.

Pretentious twaddle or a masterpiece of modern cinema? I can't make my mind up either way. I loved it and hated it.

After all that intensive viewing I switched off and watched:

Why don't the producers of the Bond movies give the director Rob Cohen a shot at the next film? The guy can direct action so well and to be fair it is a Bond movie with a bad soundtrack. Completely preposterous film but who cares when the action is this good?
