He went very peacefully - he was scheduled to have an eye removed due to an infection and they found the tumor in his esophagus when they were putting a breathing tube down (he was being anesthetized). My parents were informed that his condition was a lot more serious than they thought; they gave the vet permission to give him the final needle as he was asleep from the medicine. He died in the blanket I sent him for Christmas.
