There's something about buying a new record, coming home with it, and putting it on the needle. You give it your full attention, no distractions, it feels like a ritual to me almost. Even when I get them in the mail, I still do the same thing. I really do prefer getting one at a time though, it gives me the feeling that I don't have worry about them piling up in my room, potentially not even being listened to. Well, that and I don't like having to worry about more than one thing at a time.

From what I experienced with CD's, it's a bit different, a bit more involved, more anticipation in hearing the sound coming from within the groves. I don't get the same feeling with CD's that I do with vinyl, after I'm done ripping a CD in a loseless format, it becomes an object that takes up space.
