Well, I don't think this is true but I do think Daft Punk have made a far more significant shift in their sound and personally I feel it works. I don't feel that the use of a vocoder or anything else has hurt the transition or the output.
RVCA and myself have a tendency to see eye to eye but I think this will have to be an exception. It's a fair point to make if thats how he feels, and given the mixed reviews and feedback I don't think he's short of people to share his opinion with. I just don't agree with him.
