Um, considering jazz, blues and reggae have been around a LOT longer than metalcore and also considering if there are any "old Irish sea chanties" they would be from the days of sailing ships, and that he's saying metalcore (a new genre, relative to the above) influenced all those, I think you can say with reasonable certainty
