Kylesa - Ultraviolet (2013)
I enjoyed this on the first listen and it seems like the next natural progression from previous album
Spiral Shadow. They've wandered further down the path of psychedelic stoner rock with swirling digital guitar effects and some quieter, melodic moments. It sounds like their most varied and progressive album to date. Some of the more hardcore sludge fans will probably feel indifferent to it and say it lacks the balls of their earlier albums, but I'm glad they're a band who try new things and don't repeat themselves.
