This depends on your point of view:
...but, seriously, most Canadians live within 100 miles of the USA because the country is nothing but a vast ****hole. The only thing that prevented the Canucks, so far, from becoming more backward than Russia is their proximity to the USA. This is why there is no "Canadian culture", no "Canadian food" - just the questionable facsimiles of of American culture floating around in American's northern Suburb.
