Sure.
The major problem with the idea of "Canadian Music" versus that of the USA, is that Canada has not been home to any unique musical movements. Canadian music is music of imitation, hence why when one spins a Canadian record you don't notice a particular Canadian sound. We've seen that in this thread, where people just notice that, in a very piecemeal fashion, some of their favorite artists from genres dominated by other countries just so happened to be Canadian. Hence why, say, Neil Young is identified with Americana even though he isn't.
