^ First heard Efisio Melis playing the launeddas, a Sardinian pipe instrument, on the excellent
Roots of Drone compilation (above), which led to this purchase. Though it might be grating for some, I love the sound of this instrument, which is somewhat like a Sardinian bagpipe - without the bags.
