Just found a three inch long black leech in my back yard. Thought it was a dried up earth worm but on closer inspection it was still alive. Black flattened body with a light stripe running the length of it's body and a narrow head. Pretty sure it was a leech which I have never seen here before. The fact that it was so big makes me wonder how it got there and how many others I have in my back yard. Really need to cut the grass. The other possibility is that it was a parasitic worm coughed up by a passing cat.
