Football films are often turds. This one was quite predictably structured and rather cliched in places, but was actually rather decent. It's a rags to riches kinda thing. Mexican immigrant living in LA, meets an English former scout who invites him to England for a trial at Newcastle united. It features little cameos from some of the Newcastle squad of the time such as Alan Shearer, Jermaine Jenas, Lee Bowyer etc, as well as David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and a few others. Not amazing but I liked it.
I hadn't seen this for ages. It has a decent enough cast, but its kind stupid in places, as over the top as you might expect from a typical action film and why, oh why has Cage been a cast in a role where he needs to put on a horrible, southern American drawl? It's been so long I'd forgotten just how bad the accent is.
